Watched New York with my friend’s

After the release of the movie New York, I was very excited to watch it and my gang(Monit & Bibhu) had plans of watching the movie, but it was not happening.Today at 5pm Bibhu called me and I suddenly booked the ticket(obivously Black) and went for 6-8 show.

About the Movie:

The movie really showed me the worst side of America. We Indian teenagers think USA as heaven, even watching the movie I felt like I was watching documentry on “Concentartion camp”,but I really like the acting of Omar(Neil).

The movie is simply a good movie, but it doesn’t touch the heart.Their are many flaws in the movie like

“Surprising then, that the same film’s basic premise involves the FBI itself waiting and watching and monitoring – but never arresting or even probing – a very serious terror suspect who they have ample dope on. It’s not until he’s planted bombs all across the FBI headquarters that they swing into action.”

“The film doesn’t quite work on an emotional level either because the acting’s rather weak. It’s hard to feel sympathy for characters who fail to convey emotions convincingly. Look at the scene in which our three protagonists watch the Twin Towers being attacked on television – I think I can safely say, eight years ago sitting in Mumbai, I was more disturbed than these fellows appear to be right there in the heart of New York.”

(from Rajeev Masand)

If I show this movie to my parents they will never allow me to go abroad, ya that’s for sure. This movie has two conclusions, either hate FBI or hope for change. The end of the movie is also not appealing.I will really give it a 2.5 stars, this movie is for students and NRI’s.Let’s hope movie’s like this show up in bollywood.
